Landwood complete Clarkes of Accrington disposal
Manchester-based Landwood Group has successfully completed the sale of bikes and other stock from long-established Suzuki dealer Clarkes of Accrington, which closed its doors in January.
Clarkes was one of the best known motorcycle dealers in the North West and had been established at its Whalley Road base for more than 50 years.
Via a tender sale which attracted close to 100 bids, asset valuation and recovery specialist Landwood were able to successfully dispose of the entire inventory, which included a variety of new and second hand motorbikes and mopeds, clothing and accessories, garage equipment, plus the fixtures and fittings.
Landwood director Richard Parkinson says: "As Clarkes of Accrington was such a well known name in motorcycle circles the disposal attracted a great deal of interest from industry insiders, which translated into a very successful sale.
"We are pleased with the results — but more importantly so is the client – as the sale more than met expectations. The disposal underlines Landwood's successful expansion into the plant and machinery market."
Landwood had been appointed by Begbies Traynor in Preston to handle the disposal of the dealership. The company provides expert advice on property, plant and machinery and business assets. The company's clients include a wide range of insolvency practitioners, banks and specialist lenders. It provides due diligence advice and valuations for both lending purposes and for corporate restructuring and insolvency.
